About the studio

Launched in November 2020 by former professional basketball player Lanny Smith, Actively Black is a Black-owned athleisure and sports apparel brand that reinvests in Black communities, supporting mental health services, healthy food access and HBCU athletics. It outfitted Team Nigeria at the 2022 Winter Olympics and the 2024 Paris Games, where the ceremony looks used Funtua cotton with adire and wax-resist dyeing and were made by artisans in Lagos.
